Otello
by Giuseppe Verdi
Center Stage Opera would like to dedicate these performances of Otello to the memory of the renowned Maestro Anton Guadagno who died in Austria, 2002, at the completion of his last performances of Otello at the St. Margarethen Festival. A bust and memorial plaque to honor him was later placed at the entrance of the festival grounds by the Austrian government, that earlier (1999) had awarded him the Bronze Medal of Honor for Arts and Sciences in recognition of his contribution of conducting for 30 years at the Vienna Staatsoper.
He was also awarded Verdi d'Oro ( The Verdian Golden Prize) in Bussetto, Italy, which is the home town of Giuseppe Verdi, the composer of Otello.
