Zachary Joseph Hornig

Name

Lyric Tenor Zachary Hornig is a current Graduate Student at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he studies Voice Performance with Dr. Marcus DeLoach.  Zachary has performed and covered a number of diverse stage roles in his young performing career including Giles Corey in The Crucible, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, and Torasso in Passion at Susquehanna University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance, as well as Scaramuccio in Ariadne auf Naxos, Cajus in Falstaff, Dancairo in Carmen, and Flute in Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Johanna Meier Opera Theater Institute, and Contino Belfiore in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera at Temple University. 

An avid concert performer and recitalist, he has performed as a regular soloist with the Susquehanna University Choir, and has sung concert works includingJohannes Brahms’ Liebeslieder Walzer and Handel’s Messiah, as well as J. S. Bach’s Actus Tragicus for Susquehanna University’s 2011 concert in Memory of the 10th Anniversary of 9/11.  Zachary has served as a regular finalist and semi-finalist for the Allegheny Mountain Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing’s annual voice competition and can be heard covering the role of Nemorino in Opera Libera’s upcoming production of Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore.
