Conductor

Zachary Levi

Zachary Levi is thrilled to be making his operatic conducting debut with Center Stage Opera.  Mr. Levi currently conducts the Wednesday Club Youth Orchestra and teaches orchestra in the Southern York County School District.  Formal studies have included work with Grant Cooper (West Virginia Symphony) and David Geier, and while at the Conducting Institute at Bard, he also worked with Harold Farberman along with other internationally renown guest clinicians.

Mr. Levi’s guest conducting appearances  include the Saratoga All-County String Orchestra in Mechanicville, NY, Area All-State Orchestra (in NYSSMA Zone 15) in Elmira, NY, and the Madison All-County Orchestra in Chittenengo, NY.  He will also spend two weeks of his summer directing the orchestra program at the Eastern U.S. Music Camp at Colgate University and one week conducting at the New York ASTA String Institute in Ithaca, NY.

As a cellist, Zachary Levi has remained active by performing with the York Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, the Moscow Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker” and has formerly played with Albany Symphony, Binghamton Philharmonic, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra and the New World Symphony.  Cello instructors have included Elizabeth Simkin (Ithaca College), Michael Haber (University of Akron) and Lee Fiser (Cincinnati Conservatory).
