Shannon Cherone

Mezzo Soprano

Name

A native of Annapolis, Maryland, Mezzo-Soprano Shannon Cherone received her Master of Music in voice performance from The Boston Conservatory under the tutelage of Rebecca Folsom and her Bachelor of Music in voice performance from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music. She currently resides in Annapolis performing throughout the area, recently appearing with the Atlantic Music Festival as Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro. This summer, she can be seen as Mercedes in Carmen at the Midwest Institute of Opera, where she will also be covering Carmen. In the Fall of 2014, Ms. Cherone will perform the role of Carmen with the Center Stage Opera of Harrisburg, PA. Ms. Cherone has sung Lucretia in The Rape of Lucretia, Lady Jane in Patience, and Alma March in Little Women, Carmen in Carmen, Beatrice in Beatrice et Benedict, Third Lady in Cosí fan tutte, and the alto solos in Handel’s Messiah and maintains a private voice studio in the Annapolis area.
