Sara Materniak

 

Sarah Materniak

A native of Pennington, New Jersey Ms. Materniak began her career in opera with an apprenticeship with Boheme Opera of NJ at the age of 15. With Boheme Opera she has sung in the chorus of over a dozen operas and culminated her time there with the role of the Page in Rigoletto. Her solo concert work had included engagements with the Trenton Choral Society and The Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra with works of Vivaldi, Mozart, and Saint Saen's.

As a member of the famed Westminster Symphonic Choir she appeared under the Baton of Maestro Raefel Fruebeck de Burgos with the Dresden Philharmonic in Brahm's Ein Deutches Requiem and Maestro Lorin Maazel with the New York Philharmonic in Mozart's Coronation Mass at Lincoln Center's Avery Fischer Hall.

Further studies have included the Florence Voice Seminar in Florence, Italy where she participated in master classes and coachings with Maestro Marco Balderi of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Laura Brooks Rice, and Benita Valente.

Ms. Materniak will appear next with the New York Chamber Players in a concert of Mozart Arias. She currently is a student of Dr. Christopher Arneson and travels to Italy to coach with Maestro Marco Balderi. Ms. Materniak is a graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ.
