Rick Adriano

Baritone

Name

   Enrico  Adriano (Baritone)

A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Adriano graduated from St. Joseph’s University while pursuing private vocal studies.  A versatile singer, he began singing publicly as a bass in the area of Italian opera and made his debut in Lucia as Raimondo with the Delaware Valley Opera Company along side of two winners of the Luciano Pavarotti vocal competition in the early 1980’s.  For the first half of his career, he concentrated on Italian buffo roles such as Falstaff in Falstaff, Don Pasquale in Don Pasquale, Dulcamara in L’Elsir D’Amore, Sulpice in Daughter of the Regiment, Bartolo in the Barber of Seville, Gianni Schicchi in Gianni Schicchi, and  Leoporello in Don Giovanni.

In the last decade he changed gears and began singing in dramatic baritone roles under the guidance of Richard Johnson.  Among the roles he added to his repertoire include Enrico in Lucia, Scarpia in Tosca, Sharpless in Madame Butterfly, Gerard in Andre Chenier Tonio in Pagliacci, Michele in Il Tabarro, Germont in La Traviata, Iago in Otello, Carlo in La Forza del Destino and recently Rigoletto in Rigoletto.  Mr. Adriano has sung extensively in concert and opera in the tri-state area as well as in New York.

Presently, Mr. Adriano has been performing in joint recitals with the Main Line Opera Guild at retirement communities, universities and restaurants in both classical music  and popular Italian and Broadway music.
