Baritone Ralph Schatzki has performed with several opera companies in the US, including the Florida Grand Opera, Sarasota Opera and Chautauqua Opera. After moving to Thailand in 1991, he appeared in several productions with the Bangkok Opera, performing such roles as: Don Giovanni, Amonasro, Das Sprecher, Aeneas, and three roles in two world premiere productions. In 2003, he also created the role of Scarpia with Lyric Opera Malaysia and Singapore Lyric Opera. Returning to the US in 2005, he has since appeared with Taconic Opera, Chelsea Opera, Empire Opera, Garden State Opera, Concert Opera Philadelphia, Empire Opera, Espresso Opera, and Capitol Heights Lyric Opera, performing the roles of Don Giovanni, Di Luna, Michele, Tonio, Alfio and Guglielmo (in Puccini's Le Villi). Experienced in oratorio as well as opera, he has performed lead solo parts in The Messiah, Carmina Burana, and the Requiems of Brahms, Fauré, Mozart and Duruflé.
