Priscilla Coblentz Cohen, Lyric Spinto Soprano, is delighted to make her Center Stage Opera debut as Cio-Cio-San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.
Priscilla’s vocal ability is a unique balance of power and beauty. Born on a dairy farm in rural Oklahoma, she has been singing since before she could speak. Priscilla received a scholarship to study vocal performance at Oklahoma City University, Wanda Bass School of Music. Before graduation she left singing to purse a career in politics, a profession which brought her to Philadelphia.
After a chance encounter with Vocal Technician/Teacher Antonio Conte Pugliese three years ago Priscilla was inspired to return to her true passion, singing opera after a five year absence. Since returning to music she has performed in numerous recitals, concerts, in several lead roles with Lyric Opera Theater of Philadelphia. In February, Priscilla performed the role of Santuzza in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana for Opera Lancaster. Last summer she performed ‘God Bless America’ at Citizen’s Bank Park for the Philadelphia Phillies. She lives in Center City, Philadelphia with her husband Aaron Cohen and Ferbie the wonder cat.
Upcoming Performances March of 2010 Priscilla will be singing Musetta in Opera Lancaster’s production of Puccini’s La Boheme.
