Elizabeth Lins Shoenfelt

Coloratura Soprano

Elizabeth Shoenfelt

A native of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Ms. Shoenfelt graduated from Messiah College in 2002 with a bachelor of science in music education. After graduation, Ms. Shoenfelt taught high school choral music and was the chorus administrator and assistant chorus master for the Harrisburg Opera Association’s Childrens’ Chorus.

Ms. Shoenfelt pursued graduate work in voice and choral methods from VanderCook College of Music and spent the summer of 2004 studying voice, choral methods, and Italian in Siena, Italy, where she sang in concerts throughout Tuscany and debuted a song cycle and duet which were written for her.

Ms. Shoenfelt holds a master of music in vocal performance from the Pennsylvania State University and is currently an adjunct professor of music at Shippensburg University.  She maintains a private voice studio and is an active member of the Carlisle Musical Arts Club, a recitalist with the Wednesday Club, sings with the Grammy-nominated Susquehanna Chorale, and was most recently heard singing the second soprano solo in the Shippensburg University Summer Festival Series performance of Mozart’s Mass in C Minor.

Ms. Shoenfelt began performing with the Harrisburg Opera Association while still in high school and in 2001 she sang the role of Juliette Brooks in the Pennsylvania premiere of Benjamin Britten’s opera The Little Sweep. Elizabeth also sings with Center Stage Opera in Harrisburg and will be performing Zerlina in Don Giovanni with them in March.  She will return to Amici Opera to sing Inez in next month’s production of L’Africana.

Ms. Shoenfelt lives in Carlisle with her husband and their enthusiastic two-year-old daughter.
