José Andrade Baritone

Baritone José Andrade is a native New Yorker with a Master’s in Music from the University of Memphis. José’s recent performances include performances of Lucia di Lammermoor, Falstaff, and Il Trovatore with Center Stage Opera in Harrisburg, Wotan in Das Rheingold with Mannes Wagner Theatre in July, 2007 and with New Jersey Baroque Opera in October, 2007.

In March, 2006, Mr. Andrade made his Carnegie Hall debut as the baritone soloist in Faure’s Requiem, performed a Wagner Concert with the Metro Chamber Orchestra in May 2006, and was a finalist in the Altamura-Caruso Vocal Competition in August 2006. Other recent credits include Nosfeartu in Nosferatu with Rimrorck Opera (Montana), Norton in The Marriage Contract with Rockland Opera, Donner and Wotan in Das Rheingold, and The Wanderer in Siegfried, with the Mannes Wagner Theater Opera Program, and Jokanahan (cover) in Salome with New York Opera Project. 

Past performances include Don Alfonzo in Cosi Fan Tutte, Leporello in Don Giovanni, and Lindorf in The Tales of Hoffmann with the U. of M. and covering Amonasro in Aida and Germont with Opera Memphis, Falstaff in Falstaff with New Opera Festival of Rome, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Tonio in I Pagliacci and Aeneas in Dido & Aeneas with Operafest! of New Hampshire. An avid recitalist, Jose performs extensively throughout the Northeast.
