Tenor James Haughom is currently pursuing a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Delaware. Haughom was a finalist in the 2013 105 Voices of History National Vocal Competition held at the Washington National Opera Studio. Recent credits include: “Belmonte” in Die Entfürung aus dem Serail with the University of Delaware Opera Theatre, “Don Ottavio” in Don Giovanni with Opera Breve, “Parpignol” in La Bohéme with The Verismo Opera Company of New Jersey, “Lysander” in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Harrower Opera Workshop, and “Rodolfo” in La Bohéme with the University of Delaware Opera Theatre. Haughom has had the privilege of working with several renowned coaches and directors including: Arlene Shrut, Steven Gathman, Carroll Freeman, James Marvel, Dean Anthony, Jeffrey Miller and Stephen Dubberly. Haughom will be returning to Opera Breve this summer as a Young Artist and will be performing the title role in Albert Herring.
