Galit Dadoun

Galit Dadoun, a native of Israel and currently a Philadelphia
resident, has performed in the United States, Germany, Italy and
Israel. Most recently, she sang the role of Desdemona of Bellini’s
Norma with Center Stage Opera.
Her previous engagements include participation in the Mobile Opera
Young Artist Program (Mobile, Alabama) and concerts with the international
festival, Elysium – Between Two Continents (New York and Munich,
Germany). Galit has appeared as a soloist with the Tel Aviv Chamber
Theatre, the Israeli National Theatre and Musica Nova of Tel Aviv
with the world premiere of the contemporary piece “The Hymn”.
Operatic repertoire includes: Meg from Falstaff (Verdi), Mrs. Todd
from The Old Maid and the Thief (Menotti), Cassandra from Ecuba
(Rigacci), Poppea from L’Incoronazione di Poppea (Handel),
Mme. Gobineau from The Medium (Menotti), Echo and Ariadne from Ariadne
auf Naxos (Strauss), Michal from Saul and David (Nielsen).
Galit has won awards and scholarships from the America-Israel Foundation,
as well as participated in young artist programs of the International
Vocal Arts Institute led by Joan Dorneman of the Metropolitan Opera.
She received her Masters of Music from City University of New York’s
Brooklyn College studying with Mignon Dunn, and her B.A. and Artist’s
Diploma from the Ruben Academy of Music, Tel Aviv University.
Otello is her second performance with CSO.
