Fabiola Echazabal

Soprano

Name

Fabiola Echazabal is a French and Arabic Studies Major at the University of Maryland College Park. She is a native of Mexico and where she was a semi-finalist in the Concurso National de Canto Carlo Moreli in México City. Ms. Echazabal studied music at the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza Carmen Romano in Monterrey. This is her debut in the role of Nedda with Center Stage Opera. Past performances include El Barberillo de Lavapies, Love Potion and Maria La O with The Inseries Pocket Opera in Washington D.C. Last year she performed with Zarzuela Di Si in Luisa Fernanda as well as Fledermaus and Merry Widowwith Opera Camerata of Washington. She has also performed with Opera Vivente in Lucia di Lammermoor and scenes from Cosi Fan Tutte and Turn of the Screw with Opera Vivente Young Artist Program. She has also appeared with Washington Savoyards as Lucy inTreemonisha. Ms. Echazabal also participated in the Little Patuxent Opera Festival in scenes from Falstaff, Madame Butterfly and the role of Genevive in Suor Angelica. She was trained with Richard Crittenden in the Crittenden Opera Workshop and with the Atlantic Coast Opera Festival. She continues to study voice with Elizabeth Hartman.
