Erica Hamby

Mezzo Soprano

 

Ms. Hamby is already recognized nationally as a major young talent, both in concerts and in operatic performances. Audiences have the opportunity to see and hear the stellar mezzo as she will be performing Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus with Center Stage Opera, Countess Ceprano & Giovanna in Rigoletto with Opera Seabrook & Capitol Opera of Harrisburg, and the role of Mercedes (covering the title role) in Carmen as well as the role of Siebel in Faust with Opera Seabrook. Erica Hamby spent the summer of 2012 performing with the Utah Festival Opera understudying the role of Siebel in their production of Faust.

Miss Hamby made her Carnegie Hall & Kennedy Center concert debuts receiving reviews described as “breathtaking” by Stockton Record’s Lori Gilbert. The rising young Artist has a ready repertoire including Hansel in (Hansel & Gretel); L’Enfant in (L’Enfant et les sortileges); Siebel in (Faust); La Ciesca in (Gianni Schicchi);; Prince Orlofsky in (Die Fledermaus); Countess Ceprano & Giovanna in (Rigoletto); Mercedes & Carmen in (Carmen); Idamante in (Idomeneo); Mère Marie in (Dialogues des Carmélites); Pitti-Sing in (The Mikado); & Ms. Bernstein/Mrs. Luce/Skip Snip in (Little Shop of Horrors). Erica Hamby received two consecutive scholarship grants from the Stockton Opera Competition, a recipient of the Peabody Career Grant, winner of the George Castelle Memorial Award as well as a member of the elite music honor society of Pi Kappa Lambda. Ms. Hamby currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland.
