Emily Gibson

Soprano

Name

Soprano Emily Gibson is much in demand across the tri-state area as both a performer and a teacher.  Ms. Gibson has sung leading roles with Oswego Opera, Syracuse University, Rutgers University, and Princeton Opera.  Notable roles include Yum-Yum (The Mikado), Mercedes (Carmen), Calaveras II (Frida), Second Woman (Dido & Aeneas), and La Suora Zelatrice (Suor Angelica).  Concert appearances include Mozart’s Grand Mass in C Minor, Mozart’s Requiem, and Handel’s Messiah and Dixit Dominus

            In addition to appearing on the operatic and classical stage, Ms. Gibson also performs in musicals and straight theater.  Roles include Rapunzel and The Witch in Into the Woods, Elsa Schraeder and Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, and Belle in A Christmas Carol.  She has sung for such eminent names as Vice-President Joe Biden and conductor James Conlon. She also maintains a thriving vocal studio, in which she teaches vocal technique as well as performance preparation skills. Ms. Gibson graduated from Syracuse University with a Masters in Vocal Performance, and received her Bachelors degree from Rutgers University.
