Elmira Mitzanova


Elmira Mitzanova

Russian-American soprano, Elmira Mitzanova, coming from two cultures, combines her beautiful voice and innate musicality with a Western cosmopolitan training. Recently she sang to great acclaims Verdi-Gala concerts with KulturGipfel in Augsburg and Bad Duerkheim, Germany, and Micaela (Carmen) in Nymphenburger Schloss in Munich. Previously she sang the title role in Madama Butterfly with the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Germany, and Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana with the Staatstheater Braunschweig Open-Air, Germany. In January 2010 she made an operetta role debut as Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus with One World Symphony orchestra in New York.

Other guest engagements include the title role of Tosca with the Plovdiv State Opera (Bulgaria) on its tour of England and Mimi cover with the American Opera Musical Theater's productions of La Boheme at the National Theater of Taipei, Taiwan, as well as the Second Lady in The Magic Flute, which she sang at the Virgin Atlantic Holders Festival in Barbados. In the USA she sang at the Opera in the Heights in Houston,
Texas. Other important roles performed, include Leonora (Il Trovatore), Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera), Maddalena di Coigny (Andrea Chenier), and the title role in Aida.

Her recital and concert work has included "Italienische Nacht" Kultur Gipfel concert series with the Orchestra della Zona Alpina throughout Bavaria, including Carl- Orff-Zaal Gasteig, Munich Philharmonia, Verdi Gala concerts with the Philharmonia Bohuslav Martinu˚ Zlin and the Karlsbad Symphony Orchestra, as well as Operetta concerts in Smetana Hall with Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.


She received her vocal training at Mannes College of Music. Additional studies included Masterclasses at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy and at the Mozarteum Academy of Music in Salzburg, Austria.
