Elizabeth Knecht

Mezzo Soprano

Name

Elizabeth Knecht trained at the Lehigh Valley Regional Ballet Company, under the direction of Alexi Ramov. She worked with
the Joffrey Ballet in New York City, Ballet South, Repertory Dance Theatre of PA, Philadelphia Civic Ballet Company and other regional companies. She has been coached by Dame Margot Fonteyn of the Royal Ballet and Assaf Messerer of the Bolshoi Ballet. She has appeared as a Guest Artist and Soloist with numerous dance companies.

Elizabeth has performed in musical theater, cabaret and opera, and is an accomplished singer and actor. She has performed
with the Bucks County Playhouse, Rose Valley Opera, Trinity Opera Theater, Chestnut Hill Symphony, Orchestra Society of
Philadelphia, Dan Perna Productions, Swarthmore Players and others. She has been seen in the roles of Lady Jacquie in Me
and My Girl
, Berta in Barber of Seville, the Sandman and the Dew Fairy in Hansel & Gretel, April in Company, Maddalena in Rigoletto, Carmen in Carmen, Elena in a world premiere opera production of A Misummer Night's Dream, in both Philadelphia and Italy, Side By Side by Sondheim, Marian in The Music Man, Tina in The Red Mill, Mabel Normand in Mack & Mabel, and Adelaide in Guys & Dolls. Ms. Knecht was the choreographer for Oliver!, produced at the Merriam Theater in the spring of 2006. She appears each Saturday night at La Collina, in Bala Cynwid, singing standards and jazz with Pasqual Diorio. She recently appeared in the role of Billie Dawn in Born Yesterday, in PlayCrafter's production of Jaques Brel is Alive and Well and as Flannery in the Media Theater's production of Thoroughly Modern Millie.

She appears in recital, concert and cabaret venues with Night & Day and on her own, performing jazz, show tunes and light
opera in recital halls and restaurants. She is an accomplished choreographer, and teaches ballet at the Philadelphia Performing Arts Charter School.
