Douglas Rowland Tenor

Doug Rowland continues to perform throughout the Delaware Valley with several opera companies and choral groups. Doug’s recent engagements, include Holiday concerts with the Valley Forge Chorale and Bel Canto Lyric opera Company, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly with the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, Rossini’s Guillame Tell and Floyd’s Susannah with Baltimore Concert Opera as well as Rossini’s Semiramide and La Cenerentola in Opera Delaware’s Spring Festival. In August, 2016 Doug took on the role of Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti), on short notice, with Delaware Valley Opera Company. In past performances with DVOC he has sung Don Jose in Carmen, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Rodolfo in La Boheme, as well as both Turridu in Cavalleria Rusticana and Canio in I Pagliacci on the same night. In these performances, according to the Chestnut Hill Local, “Rowland accomplished yoeman’s work and his high notes rang with stirring clarity.” Doug will be singing in OperaDelaware’s production of Puccini’s Il Tabarro this Spring.
