Christopher Manna

Chris Manna

Christopher Manna is an Italian-American lyric tenor hailing from Baltimore, Maryland. Just this past month, he won the Concorso Internazionale di Canto Lirico in Turin, Italy. As part of this competition, Christopher was awarded the role of Nemorino in L'elisir  d'amore which is to be sung in Torino in the spring of 2010. He was  also awarded a second award where he was given a study grant to come  back to Turin, Italy in August 2010 to study and help perfect the 'bel canto' style as part of being the 'most promising young bel canto performer'. He recently finished his Master's degree from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University where he studied with Grammy award winning baritone, William Sharp. At the Peabody Institute, Christopher was awarded a merit scholarship upon entrance for his degree and upon graduation was awarded the Charles M.Eaton Voice award. Christopher attended the University of Maryland, College Park for his undergraduate studies where he earned his Bachelor of the Arts degree while studying voice with internationally renowned tenor, Gran Wilson, and former President of NATS, Martha Randall. This spring marks Christopher's 3rd season with Center Stage Opera as he sings the role of Nadir in 'Les Pecheurs de Perles'.
