Catherine Perman

Tu hai una molto grande, bella e importante voce!
(You have a very big, beautiful and important voice!)

Carlo Bergonzi

Catherine Perman’s high-impact stage presence along with her voice of splendid size, power and beauty, makes her impressive for the great roles in which she has already won applause.  Most recently Catherine sang a glowing Brűnnhilde in concert in Siegfried with Fort Lee Opera.  Triumphing last year in La Gioconda with Center Stage Opera, Ms. Perman also sang a stunning Leonora in Il Trovatore with the company the previous year.  She made her European debut at Landestheatre Coburg in Germany as Leonore in Fidelio, then returned to triumph as Senta in The Flying Dutchman, Giulietta in The Tales of Hoffmann and in Wagner concerts, winning her public and press acclaim for her dynamic presence as well as her exciting dramatic gifts and rare vocal endowment. (“Catherine Perman’s singing was some of the finest that I’ve heard from the operatic stage.” - Neue Presse, Coburg, Germany).

Soprano Catherine Perman’s repertoire includes most of the classic spinto/dramatico heroines.  She has also sung Tosca, Aida, Leonora in Il Trovatore, Minnie in La Fanciulla Del West and Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana in theaters in the United States, including Tulsa Opera and Santa Fe Opera.  Proving her theatrical versatility, Ms. Perman appeared in The Phantom of the Opera in Hamburg, Germany.  She has been honored by the judges of the Renata Tebaldi Corsi di Perfezionamente (Italy), the Bilbao International Competition (Spain), the Belvedere International Competition (Germany), New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera (New York), Liederkranz Foundation Vocal Competition (New York), Classical Productions (NYC), and Opera at Florham (NJ) and the National Opera Club of New York named Ms. Perman “the most promising artist of the season.”   Making her Cairo Opera debut with the Ambassadors of Opera And Concert Worldwide on an Egypt and the Middle Eastern tour, Ms. Perman has also concertized throughout Europe and the Mediterranean.
