Anthony Daino

Tenor

Anthony Daino

Anthony Daino, tenor, has been described by Allan Kozinn of The New York Times as having “an appealing tone, perfect diction and an ear for nuance.” After winning the Spoleto Competition in Italy, Anthony sang Ernesto in Don Pasquale under the direction of Gian-Carlo Menotti. La Republica wrote of his performance: “Mr. Daino sang his part with extreme beauty, evenness and a consistent, fiery energy. He is a tenor to be on the lookout for.”

Anthony frequently appears both in lead roles and in concert with opera companies in the US and Europe. Anthony has performed with Opera Orchestra of New York under Eve Queler at Carnegie Hall in recorded concerts of I Due Foscari and I Lombardi, and with the International Institute of Vocal Arts (Italy) under the direction of Janet Bookspan, Mignon Dunn and Nico Castel.

With a beautiful bright, ringing voice, an engaging personality, and an extensive repertoire that includes operatic arias, oratorio and popular Neapolitan, Italian, Spanish and English songs and ballads, Anthony is a favorite performer at concerts. Anthony has been featured soloist at music festivals in Italy and has appeared at Aspen, in concert at Trinity Church and with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Anthony has appeared off-Broadway with the theatrical group, La Mama, and has been a featured guest on radio WQXR (NY), and Italian television and radio.

Upcoming engagements include tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Newburg Symphony Orchestra, in concert with Northport Opera and the Newburg Symphony, and performing the roles of Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and Fenton in Falstaff in New York City.
